Explanations

Explanations

I was inspired by Lucas Oleniuk and Benjamin Rondel's photography work, which you can see their photography work on my blog. However, their photographs are completely black and white. The black and white is meant to take away the realism of the image and the red is meant to attract the viewer to this homeless man who is crippled. I also like the way everyone is going on with their everyday life and he is in this particular moment.

I really like this image as it contrasts with the the first image. I tried to focus on the man with a suite holding a cigarette as I want my first image to have a great impact. I also like how everyone seems to be relaxing and in a sense ignorant to any issues.

Editing on PS

Editing on PS

I inserted my image on Photoshop.

I use the select tool to select the mans collar.
I had to go on inverse in order to prevent the mans collar to be affected by the black and white filter I am going to place in.
From under the layers I selected the black and white filter.
As you can see everything but the man's collar is affected by the black and white filter.
I wanted to empathize the colour of the collar so therefore I had to re-select  it.
Went on properties and change the hue and satisfaction to a more red tone to increase the red tone.

My photography of homelessness

My Photography of Homelessness

My Photographs Of Homelessness

I was astonished in the plenitude of homelessness in London particularly when I went to Stratford. It was also heartbreaking to see people in these situations too.
Whilst taking my images I was able to speak to some of these individual's as I wanted to ask for their permission to take their photos but most were reluctant.
I remember talking to one man who was homeless, I recall him telling me that a particular newspaper, I can't remember, was helping him, which is really good.
